Culinary Program - France with Bocuse

JBI/Chefs de France: Bocuse on Walt Disney World®

Since 1982, the Bocuse house has been making the guests of Walt Disney World park dream about France by giving them the opportunity to live a unique and wonderful experience at the French pavilion of EPCOT. They can live a typical French experience and taste the most famous French meals.

To make this experience truly immersive, each year, young French chefs bring their skills and passion for fine French gastronomy to Walt Disney World Park, working for JBI (Jérôme Bocuse International).

At the French Pavilion in EPCOT, starting as a commis de cuisine and then as a demi chef de partie, you will work in two restaurants:

  • Les Chefs de France is a traditional French brasserie serving an international clientele. The menu features classic French cuisine.
  • Monsieur Paul is a fine-dining restaurant serving upscale French cuisine.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience at Maison Bocuse for 12 months. You will start as a commis de cuisine, tasked with representing France on the plates of international customers by offering traditional French dishes. You will work on a J1 visa, which will allow you to progress to the position of demi chef de partie at the gourmet restaurant Monsieur Paul.

The CULINARY Program WITH A J1 VISA

To work in the United States as a commis de cuisine / demi chef de partie, you will need a J1 visa.

There are two categories for this type of visa:

  • First option: You hold a post-secondary diploma in hospitality and catering. This could be a two-year vocational diploma (BTS), a Bachelor's degree, or a Master's degree.
  • Second option: You have at least 5 years of experience in a kitchen (i.e., 60 months, which you must verify with work certificates or letters of reference. Unfortunately, experience gained before the age of 18 does not count.)

To obtain the J1 visa, we must go through a U.S. Sponsor, an entity officially accredited by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for J1 applications. Our agency will assist you with all the administrative procedures.

The cost of the J1 visa will be refunded to you at the end of your program, provided that you successfully complete it.
