JOB DESCRIPTION:
Inside the China Pavilion of EPCOT, you will work as a Food and Beverage Culinary Trainee in the back of the house in the Food and Beverage Department. You will be trained in 3 different areas :
- Food Preparation
- Grill Line Cook
- Wok Cook line
You will also be trained in Sanitation and Food Safety, Menu preparing and Food Tasting.
CONDITIONS:
- 12 months contract
- Standard work week is 40 hours with 2 days off. Guaranteed 35 hours, but schedule can go up to over 50 hours and 1 day off based on business needs.
- Hourly Rate: $19.00/hr. Any hour over 40 per week will be paid with Over-time rate which is 1.5 times of normal hourly rate ($28.5/hr.)
- Two complimentary labor meals per shift
- Visa J1 - paid by employees, but reimbursed by the company after successful program completion
- Medical Insurance - included in the visa fee
- Housing - employee will lease directly with Flamingo Crossings Village or find their own accommodation before arrival (an address must be provided before arrival)
- Transportation - the company will provide a $15/shift allowance
- 6 days holiday pay yearly (Rules applied)
REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify for the J1 visa, you need to:
- Be between 18 and 32 years old
- Have a Culinary post high-school degree OR justify of 5 years of experience in the Kitchen
- Hold a valid passport
To work as a Food and Beverage Culinary Trainee with China Pavilion:
- Have a Culinary School background
- Be dedicated, passionate, hardworking, willing to learn and a team player
- Be able to communicate in English
- Have 6 months or more of experience in the kitchen is preferred
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs
